Christie’s Lates – The Art of Literature - LIVE

Wednesday 8 June @ 6-9pm

Christie’s open their St James’s headquarters to the public to attend a free evening of talks, workshops, performances and exhibitions with external contributors and Christie’s specialists based around the theme of The Art of Literature.

 

This June’s Late continues with the theme of The Art Of Literature. Visitors will be able to engage in a variety of activities set against the backdrop of a cross category exhibition. There will be guided exhibition tours, special guest speaker (TBC) talks, a full line up of experimental poetry performances, calligraphy workshops, plus other activities, as well as literary themed cocktails by London Essence and other refreshments.

 

PEN Talk Series – LIVE & Virtual 

A series of lectures/ panel discussions live and streamed online.

Renowned authors, literary figures and artists, associated with PEN, in conversation with one another.

Nick Cornwell discusses his late father John le Carré’s life, legacy, and his annotations in his revolutionary espionage novel The Spy Who Came in from the Cold with journalist, author, and filmmaker, Afua Hirsch.

First Editions, Second Thoughts 
Writers return to their work and record their thoughts by hand in a First Edition. Anne Enright (The Green Road), Jung Chang (Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China), David Nicholls (One Day), Sarah Waters (Tipping the Velvet) and Tracy Chevalier (Girl With a Pearl Earring) discuss their second thoughts.
